The Pfleiderer Firm LLC (“the Firm,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information we collect through our website at pfl-firm.com (the “Site”) and through text (SMS/MMS) messages with the Firm (together, “Site Information”), and the choices you have. By using the Site or providing Site Information to the Firm, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
Not legal advice or an attorney-client relationship. Submitting information through the Site or sending us a message does not create an attorney-client relationship, and information you send before we agree in writing to represent you may not be treated as confidential or privileged. Please do not send sensitive details about a legal matter until we have confirmed that we can represent you.
Scope of this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies only to Site Information. It does not apply to information the Firm requests, receives, creates, or maintains in the course of providing legal services or in connection with an attorney-client relationship (“Client Information”). Client Information is governed by the attorney-client privilege, the work-product doctrine, the Ohio Rules of Professional Conduct (including the duty of confidentiality), the Firm’s engagement agreement with the client, and applicable law — not by this Privacy Policy.
If any information could be considered both Site Information and Client Information, the Firm’s professional and ethical obligations regarding client confidentiality govern and control over this Privacy Policy.
Information we collect
Information you give us
When you contact the Firm — through our contact form, by email, by phone, or by text — we collect the information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, telephone number, and any details you share about your legal question.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the Site, our hosting provider and standard web server processes may automatically log technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, and the date and time of your visit. We use this information to operate, secure, and improve the Site.
Cookies and similar technologies
The Site may use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for it to function and to understand how the Site is used. The Site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address as part of delivering those fonts. You can set your browser to refuse cookies or to alert you when cookies are sent; some features may not work as intended if you do.
How we use information
We use Site Information to:
- respond to your inquiries and communicate with you about your legal question or matter;
- provide, maintain, secure, and improve the Site and our services;
- schedule consultations and send you information you request;
- send appointment reminders, case-related updates, and administrative messages (including by text message, where you have opted in); and
- comply with our legal, ethical, and professional obligations.
Text messaging (SMS/MMS) policy
This section describes how the Firm uses text messaging. It applies to any mobile telephone number you provide to us.
Consent
By providing your mobile telephone number to the Firm — for example, on our contact form, by email, verbally, or by texting us first — and by agreeing to receive text messages, you give your express consent to receive text (SMS/MMS) messages from the Firm at that number. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of hiring the Firm or of receiving any legal service.
Types of messages
Messages may include responses to your inquiries, appointment scheduling and reminders, requests for information needed for your matter, case-related updates, and other communications related to your relationship with the Firm. The Firm does not send marketing or promotional text messages.
Message frequency
Message frequency varies based on your interactions with the Firm.
Message and data rates
Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan. The Firm does not charge for text messages, but your carrier’s standard rates will apply.
Opting out
You can cancel text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message from us. After you reply STOP, we will send one confirmation message and will not send you further text messages unless you opt back in. You may also contact us at the phone number or email address below to be removed.
Help
For help, reply HELP to any message from us, or contact the Firm at (330) 888-1239 or contact@pfl-firm.com.
Delivery
Message delivery is subject to your mobile carrier’s network availability. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
No sharing of mobile opt-in data
No mobile information — including your telephone number and your consent to receive text messages — will be shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We may share mobile information with vendors who help us operate our text-messaging and communications services (for example, our messaging platform), solely so they can deliver messages on our behalf. Text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties for their own purposes.
How we share information
The Firm does not sell your personal information. We share Site Information only:
- with service providers who perform functions on our behalf (such as website hosting, communications, and messaging platforms), under obligations of confidentiality and only as needed to perform those functions;
- when you ask us to or otherwise consent;
- as required to comply with law, legal process, or a lawful request by public authorities, or to establish or protect our legal rights; and
- in connection with our professional and ethical obligations as a law firm.
As noted in “Scope of this Privacy Policy” above, Client Information — information shared with the Firm in the course of an actual attorney-client relationship — is governed by the attorney-client privilege and the Ohio Rules of Professional Conduct, not by this Privacy Policy.
Data security
No method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of Site Information you send to us. Please do not send confidential or sensitive information through the Site or by unencrypted email or text.
Data retention
We keep Site Information for as long as we consider necessary for the purposes described above and to meet our legal, ethical, and recordkeeping obligations.
Your choices
You may:
- decline to provide information, though some features (like the contact form) may not work without it;
- opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP; and
- adjust your browser settings to limit cookies.
To the extent any applicable law gives you rights over your personal information, you may contact us using the information below and we will respond as required by that law.
Privacy of persons under 18
The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to persons under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from persons under 18. If you believe a person under 18 has provided us information, please contact us so that we can remove it.
Third-party links
The Site may link to third-party websites and services (for example, our online payment provider). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
